About Us

Traylor Dance Academy is Virginia’s premiere studio specializing in the performing arts. We are celebrating our 60th year of excellence in dance education!

• We offer classes in: Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical/Contemporary, Modern, Gymnastics, Baton, Theatre Dance, Drama, Modeling, Tumblebear (2 year old course), Pre-School (3-4 year old combination class with ballet/tap/intro to jazz and gymnastics) and Kinderdance (5 year old combination class with ballet/tap/jazz/gymnastics).
• We offer group and private lessons at both recreational and competitive levels. We welcome both beginner and advanced students ranging from age two to senior citizens.
• Our students have many opportunities and options! They get to showcase their dances in an annual spring recital, can to perform in the local Christmas Parade, can perform in Walt Disney Worlds parade and attend a workshop from the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall in NYC in the Rockettes Experience (also get to see the show, go behind the scenes and experience a mock audition)! Our drama students get to perform in the annual summer play! We also offer plenty of community service activities for the students such as performing a Christmas recital for the local retirement homes.
• We also have a competition team that offers exposure opportunities and also travel, workshop/master classes and performance and scholarship opportunities at both the regional and national level!
