About Us

Beginnings
The first El Caporal Restaurant was founded in 2004 by Elias Benavidez. Elias had a simple goal of creating a local family Mexican Restaurant. From that first location in Richmond, El Caporal expanded south to Colonial Heights in 2006, Dinwiddie County in 2008, and Chesterfield in 2015.

Experience
With staple dishes throughout all the locations, each restaurant also has its own local dishes and specials to maintain that local feel. No matter what location you walk into, you’ll find a welcoming atmosphere with friendly speedy service and delicious food!
