Charles Wilson is Managing Partner of CW Consulting Group, LLC, a SWaM-certified, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business. Their focus is to provide expertise in workforce development and skilled labor training strategies. He is responsible for the creation of the Legacy Builders ST.E.M. Academy, with locations in Richmond, Chesterfield, and Petersburg, VA. The academy provides credentialed training in various building trades for low-income, underserved and underrepresented residents of Virginia. He’s creator of the Legacy Nexus Program Critical Thinking and Behavior Change curriculum, facilitated to nearly 4,000 students in 50 educational institutions across the U.S. In July 2019, Charles became a first-time author with his acclaimed book, “A Love Letter: Pocket Guide to Values.” In the book he focuses on providing guideposts, for youth and adults alike, to help establish values sorely missing in the upbringing and lives of today’s generation. In September 2021, Charles became General Partner of GWBG, RLLP. The partnership was developed from the desire to establish pathways for creation of wealth, amongst people of color, to be transferred generationally. Their first investment was in the creation of “BRUN”-a membership-based whiskey and cigar lounge, with a full-service restaurant, located in Richmond, VA (est. opening in the 1st quarter of 2022).
Charles is a certified Senior Reactor Operations (SRO) Trainer, Master Trainer and Nuclear Chemist. He was recognized: in 2015 as one of “Philadelphia’s Top 10 Most Influential African-Americans Under 40;” in 2016 as one of Chicago’s “50 Men of Excellence;” and his company, as the 2017 Maryland Veteran Owned Business of the Year. He was an expert witness in 2016 before the US House of Representatives’ Energy & Power Subcommittee for the 21st Workforce bill that was passed with overwhelming bi-partisan support. Charles is a Chicago native and father of three children. He currently resides in Richmond, Virginia with his wife LaMeisha Wilson.
